Roommates and co. went to Future Shop to pick up Wrath of the Lich King. They got there at about 7:30 or something, and they were second in line. Well, the second group, anyway.

Apparently there were 46 copies of the collector's edition and 600 standard editions. It was a long line, but nowhere near 600. Still surprising. Guess it's kind of expected since there are two major universities close by. There was also a costume contest going on. The winner got to go first in line and received a $100 gift certificate. Only two people 'dressed up'. One guy had branches sticking out of his coat, and the other (one roommate of mine) had a T-shirt with stats and a fake foam sword from the dollar store. Roommate won, so she got the $100 and ended up paying $1-something for the collector's edition. First hundred people in line got a free hat with an exclamation mark (Quest-giver style) too. Other roommate wanted to go just for the hat, but since the line was a lot longer than expected, that plan failed.

Frankly, don't think it's a good idea to charge so much for an expansion when there is also a monthly fee involved. Then again, they'll probably make money no matter how much they charge. Such is the MMO business.

Pretty much.

We should make our own MMO and make billions and billions of dollars by making millions and millions of people become even more anti-social and remain glued to their computers.

Excellent idea.

Where are my techs?

We'll start and then outsource, like everybody else.
